A
large national beer brewer needed to increase their water storage capacity
in an environmentally safe manner by completely draining their 800-acre-foot
storage reservoir, excavating it by an additional 40 feet of depth and
refilling the lake with Clear Creek's annual spring runoff.
As luck would have it, a popular hunting, fishing and outdoor outfitter was building a mega store nearby and needed to fill their 850-acre-foot lake at the same time.
Rain for Rent's Fort Lupton team designed, installed and operated a pumping system consisting of three DV-300i silenced Power Prime™ pumps, 6,700 feet of fused HDPE pipe, and multiple road crossings. Rain for Rent's equipment pumped for 27 days. The 800-acre-foot lake actually had 1,100-acre feet of water!
Once
the outfitter's lake was filled to capacity, the excess water was filtered
through a weir tank and two
48-4 sand media
filters before being discharged into Clear Creek. Water quality
was carefully monitored.
When the excavated soil was transported to a nearby landfill located on the property, a groundwater problem developed that required additional pumping and filtration to maintain the company's high environmental standards.
Rain for Rent successfully provided a Complete Solution to multiple water pumping and filtration challenges.
