Description of Unit

The pump is an end suction centrifugal pump with a fully automatic priming system built into the design. This enables the pump to self-prime from completely dry conditions, even with extended suction lines. Liquid is not required to prime the pump, and therefore, in temporary dry trench conditions, the pump will “snore” until such time as liquid is available.

The priming system utilizes a standard air compressor, which feeds a pneumatic ejector mounted above the air/water separation tank. With this device, suction lifts up to 28ft. (8.5m) can be achieved.

The pump can handle raw unscreened sewage, trade effluents, thick slurries and solids up to a normal limitation of 3.375” (85.7mm) diameter.

The impeller is of a 2 port enclosed non-clog design, of cast iron construction. It is mounted on a LaSalle 1144 stress proof shaft with AISI 416 stainless steel shaft sleeve fitted to a cast iron bearing bracket; which also provides concentric location for the pump volute.

The pump casing is fitted with replaceable wearing parts, consisting of the impeller and wear rings, to simplify and reduce costs of pump rebuilds.

The mechanical seal is leak tight and suitable for sewage and sludge. The mechanical seal is fitted with tungsten carbide vs. silicon carbide faces and Buna-N or Viton seal elastomers. The arrangement incorporates an oil-filled seal housing to lubricate the seal faces.

Material options include:  Cast Iron bearing frame with a Cast Iron pump casing and fitted with 316 stainless steel or CD4MCu impeller and wear rings; complete 316 stainless steel wet ends; complete CD4MCu wet ends.

Guards are fitted as standard to all moving parts.
